Background information

We have an exciting internship opportunity in the Light Sources group in our Sensors department. This is one of the most vital departments in ASML, because it helps enable us to continuously improve our key business drivers of overlay, imaging, focus and throughput.

The goal of the internship is for you to learn about working in a corporate setting and to provide hands on experience solving real world problems in a team environment.

Your assignment

As an intern you will be working on optimization of a plasma-based light source. Your tasks include:

• Analyzing various plasma enclosure shapes and making the corresponding optical models;
• Performing measurements of light output with assorted enclosures to verify predictions;

• Proposing new measurement methods to gain insights and performing those measurements;
• Drawing conclusions and making recommendations for design optimization.

Your profile

To be the perfect match for this position you:

• Are a bachelor or master student in Applied Physics or similar;

• Speak and write English on an advanced level;
• Have an affinity with MATLAB;
• Are eager to learn, especially regarding optical modeling packages (e.g., Optics Studio);
• Have strong analytical skills and a pragmatic attitude.
