Introduction to the job

You task will be to lead a team into the relatively new area of deep vacuum electrostatics related to our electron beam inspection tools. Your goal will be to provide the development and engineering teams with best practices and solution directions for the next generation e-beam tools to improve both performance and reliability.

You will be responsible to drive the deep vacuum electrostatics research roadmap in interaction with development. You will translate this high level roadmap in to modeling and experimental studies to prove or disprove hypothesis and solution directions.
In your role, you will have to challenge current understanding and methods to make revolutionary improvement and share your knowledge with the broader electrostatic community within ASML. This includes transfer of knowledge towards our colleagues in Taiwan and the USA, resulting in travel 3-4 times a year.
As this is a new starting project team, you will need to coach and guide this new group of motivated multidisciplinary researchers to the next level in both technical skill and teamwork.

Education and experience

Education:

  • We are looking for an experienced architect/technical lead with shown technical leadership in high tech.
  • A big plus for me would be experience in Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy or generally conductive AFM.

Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems.

Diversity & Inclusion

ASML is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce. It is the policy of the company to recruit, hire, train and promote persons in all job titles without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We recognize that diversity and inclusion is a driving force in the success of our company.

The Research Tribology and electrostatics group is part of the Research department of ASML. Its task is to identify and fill in the technological gaps in the future roadmap of lithography and the lithography market. Our focus is on surface interaction control including the mechanical and material aspects and electrostatic phenomena in modules used in lithography tools. We work in small teams and deliver proof of concept solutions that can be transferred to Development and Engineering. We intensively work together with external research institutes and universities.

Keywords: Industrial research, electrostatic, capacitors, charge, discharge
